My Brother is Featured on The New Yorker's The... →
I would not be a good brother if I did not share this with the Internet. I previously posted about one of my brother’s projects (in collaboration with Manny and Jae) that was featured on Gizmodo. The very same project, called The Page, is now featured on The New Yorker’s The Book Bench. Monica Racic, author of the post, wrote: What I love about the idea of The Page is the purity of...

iPhone Finder Regrets His ‘Mistake’ →
The continuous debate regarding the iPhone 4G prototype incident is not going to stop anytime soon. Legal and ethical issues surrounding the event will continue to surface as the even slowly unfolds. I am not here to make a judgement call. I am, however, trying to satisfy my interest in the event by doing as much research as I possibly could. This is, of course, the wonder of the Internet. Just a...

Nokia N8 | Sample Video Yes, this video was taken with Nokia’s upcoming N8 flagship mobile phone. The N8 is packed with a 12 mega-pixel camera and 720p video recording capability. But no, I do not believe mobile phones will make DSLRs obsolete. Not yet at least.

"Thoughts on Flash" by Steve Jobs →
This is a big deal, and a great read too. This is not about Apple’s battle with Adobe regarding the adoption of Flash for iPhones, iPods and iPads, it is about advancing computing and mobile experience for developers and end users. Of course, it does not mean Flash is no longer relevant, but as Michael Gartenberg pointed out in this post: Like Steve, I have not seen Flash work well on a...

AOL Sells ICQ to Digital Sky Technologies →
ICQ was the very first desktop instant message client I used many years ago. I ran it on a Packard Bell PC that was purchased from Costco. Looking back, the Packard Bell PC certainly ignited my enthusiasm for technology. “AOL acquired Mirabilis on June 8, 1998, for $407 million; now they sold it for less than half the amount: $187.5 million.”

Hulu Pushes Forward with $9.95 Subscription... →
I think it’s perfectly fine for consumers to pay $9.95 per month to access more content, but Los Angeles Times also reports that ”ultimately, Hulu is expected to adopt the same commercial loads as network television.”  If the commercial loads are increased along with the addition of monthly payments, Hulu may be taking a step back from its current model. Hulu is what it is...

James Wong | Chemists “Chemists” is a short film by my friend James. The film was part of the “CMU, I Love You” film festival, which featured short films about different interpretations of love in and around the Carnegie Mellon University campus. I was fortunate enough to be invited by James to be part of the cast. Shooting the film with James was a wonderful experience. I...

How Apple Lost the Next iPhone →
The story of the lost/stolen iPhone prototype has certainly caught everyone’s attention. What is not surprising is that many people do not believe in Gizmodo’s story of how they obtained the prototype. Regardless of your stance, the article is an interesting read. “The Gourmet Haus Staudt. A nice place to enjoy good German ales. And if you are an Apple Software Engineer named...

Hulu Users Watching Record Amounts of Video →
“In January Hulu accounted for 2.8% of videos viewed by U.S. Internet users, but that number rose substantially to 3.2% in February. Nevertheless, YouTube still dominates the online video landscape. 42.5% of videos viewed in the U.S. in February were hosted on Google’s video sites.”

Twitter Announces Promoted Tweets →
“There is one big difference between a Promoted Tweet and a regular Tweet. Promoted Tweets must meet a higher bar—they must resonate with users. That means if users don’t interact with a Promoted Tweet to allow us to know that the Promoted Tweet is resonating with them, such as replying to it, favoriting it, or Retweeting it, the Promoted Tweet will disappear.”
